GAME DRIVES
The Sabi Sand is world famous for its excellent game viewing opportunities. All game drives are led by experienced game rangers and trackers. There are generally 2 game activities per day - early morning game drives and late afternoon / evening game drives. Each lodge offers its own unique game experience! Enjoy sundowners every night on game drive - what more do you want from this epic African experience!
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
Due to the fact that the reserves are privately owned, unlike many reserves throughout Africa your Ranger is able to drive ‘ off road ‘ and this enables you to get up close and personal to the wildlife. Secondly because the reserves are privately owned you are not governed by state law and therefore you are able to drive at night. If you wish to see Leopards - The Sabi Sand is the place to visit! Ask one of our experts to assist you with your booking

The Sabi Sand is the most successful and private reserve in South Africa. The Sabi Sand is a series of private game reserves that sit adjacent and on the Western Boundary of South Africa’s Kruger National Park. There are no fences between the Kruger National Park and the Sabi Sand and therefore the wildlife is able to move freely between the two areas. The Sabi Sand is regarded by most people to be the premier destination in South Africa for game viewing.
At night you are able to view the Big Five and in particular the Lions and Leopards as they hunt.
The lodges in the Sabi Sand are spectacular and compare with some of the best hotels in the world. These lodges frequently grace the pages of Conde Traveller, Harpers and Queens and many are members of Virtuoso, Relais Chateaux and other prestigious hotel organizations. Famous lodges include Singita, Ulusaba, Londolozi, Exeter River Lodge and Sabi Sabi. Choosing a lodge can be a tricky and daunting task, but discuss the options with your Ghecko Safaris Consultant who will advise you of the best options available to you. Lodges vary in design and architectural style and whether they have features such as private plunge pools, large decks.
Safaris vary in standard and cost depending on whether they have larger safari traversing areas, shared traversing areas, how many guests they have on a game drive vehicle. Nothing can compare having the opportunity to discuss the options with your Ghecko Safaris Consultant who will be able to advise you on the best lodge for you based on current availability, your budget and your specific needs and requirements
