The
Stellenbosch Wine Route comprises 44 cellars which produce
between them a large variety of red and white wines. The route
offers the visitor an ideal opportunity of sampling these
wines whilst exploring this famous wine-producing region.
The picturesque Franschhoek valley also offers some of South
Africa's most acclaimed restaurants, and with everything from
delicious Cape country fare to sublime French cuising, it's
not surprising that the area if known as the "Wine and
Food Capital of the Cape". There's a menu here for every
taste, and every pocket. Hermanus, overlooking Walker Bay
on the Cape south coast, is considered to boast not only some
of the worlds best wines, but also the best land-based whale-watching
in the world.
