Situated in the Eastern Caprivi of Namibia, on a
peninsula on the northern bank of the Chobe River, Chobe Savanna
Lodge overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s
Puku Flats. As this haven is the furthest removed from the hustle
and bustle of Kasane town, Chobe Savanna lodge offers guests a
hideaway for those looking for an exclusive Chobe River experience.
The area is renowned for its diverse and prolific wildlife including
the renowned large herds of elephant and the rare puku antelope.
Chobe Savanna Lodge is further situated within the Savanna
Conservancy, a community based wildlife conservation area in the
Caprivi.
This area of the Chobe river is home to the largest herds of
elephant in Africa, buffalo and hippo, as well as concentrations of
other wildlife which come down to the rivers edge to drink, graze
and hunt. Chobe Savanna Lodge is relaxed and informal, set in a
classic African Savanna environment with sweeping vistas surrounding
the lodge. The focal point of the lodge is a thatched open sided
main building which features a 270 degree view over the Chobe River
and beyond to the Chobe National Park. Access to Chobe Savanna Lodge
is organized by Desert and Delta Safaris via Kasane in Botswana. The
lodge accepts children of all ages however no childcare/baby-sitters
are provided for at any of our properties and children must be under
the care of their parents at all times.
Desert & Delta Safaris are proudly assisting in preparing the
community for their future roles as custodians of the conservancy
project, initiated by the local community, in terms of enabling
community based natural resource legislation. Our ongoing education
and introduction to the immediate benefits of eco-tourism, rather
than unsustainable depletion of the natural resources, have led to a
new generation of environmentally conscious citizens. The Savanna
Conservancy will be part of the proposed Trans-frontier Conservation
Area
