KRUGER
PARK / SABI SAND / TIMBAVATI / MAKALALI
|
The Kruger National Park is one of the most
popular safari destinations in South Africa. This unique game
reserve, South Africa's biggest, caters for every safari need.
In the past years, most of the fences have been "dropped"
between Kruger Park and adjacent reserves
such as Sabi Sand and Timbavati Private
Game Reserves. You have various options on safari
lodges in the area so take your time to choose the perfect
lodge for you. The Kruger Area are divided
into 2 main safari areas.
Southern Kruger :
Kruger Park
Sabi Sand: Sabi
Sand Game Reserve
Northern Kruger: Timbavati
| Makalali | Kruger Park
Most of the private reserves are easily access able by road
and air from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport
- better known as KMIA. KMIA is merely a 40 minute drive from
the Kruger, and 120 minute drive from the Sabi Sand reserve.
When traveling to the Timbavati
or Makalali reserves, the nearest airport servicing these
reserves will be Hoedspruit airport. There are daily flight
between Johannesburg and Hoedspruit / Johannesburg and KMIA
as well as Cape Town and KMIA.

WHAT
TO WEAR |
It
is advisable that you pack the correct clothing when going
on safari. During the day it can be very hot and the sun in
Africa is very dangerous. In the early mornings and late evenings
it can be very cold, so always take a warm jacket on safari.
We recommend you pack the following:
- Warm jacket
- Good hat or cap
- Binoculars
- Mosquito repellant
- Good walking shoes

MALARIA
WARNING |
Other than by foot (that can take very long!) to get to the
Kruger and Sabi Sand is very easy. There are daily flights
from Johannesburg and Cape Town to KMIA - the main airport
in the area. From here you can hire a car or be transferred
by road or air charter to the camp of your choice.
|

The Kruger National Park, Timbavati, Klaserie and Makalali
areas are classified as Malaria areas. We recommend you
consult your doctor before you depart on your safari to
ensure that you take the necessary precautions.
